The Women’s center in Tensta-Hjulsta is a non-profit women’s association that started in May 1997. The association is multicultural with about 230 members from around 20 countries. All women are welcome regardless of religion, ethnic and cultural affiliation and regardless of whether you are a Swedish citizen, have a residence permit, are seeking asylum or paperless.

The association works to:

Break women’s isolation and segregation
Strengthen women’s self-confidence and identity
Improve the language skills of women
Improve the knowledge of Swedish society, its laws and regulations
Promote women’s health with information, courses and exercise
Support women to study, search for work or start their own business
Increase women’s participation and influence in Swedish society
